Our India Desk offers dedicated legal support to Indian corporates operating in or entering the Dutch market.

With a nuanced understanding of the legal, commercial, and cultural frameworks in both jurisdictions, we are well-positioned to guide clients through the complexities of cross-border transactions and operations by providing practical, tailored legal solutions with cross-cultural sensitivity.

The India Desk is managed by Harshvardhan Ranga and Herman Ruiter.

Harsh is an Indian-qualified lawyer with litigation and advisory experience in India, as well as international legal training in the Netherlands. Having studied and worked in both countries, he brings a unique bicultural perspective to Indo-Dutch legal matters. He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, and also speaks Dutch.

Herman is a partner and leads the Litigation & Commercial Contracting team. He specialises in corporate and commercial litigation. Additionally he assists national and international companies on commercial contracting issues. He has been an attorney since 2007 and also has experience working as in-house litigation counsel for one of the Netherlands’ largest multinationals.

HEUSSEN builds on the foundation of strong bilateral ties fostered by institutions such as the Indian Embassy in The Hague, the Netherlands–India Chamber of Commerce and Trade (NICCT), and other key stakeholders in Indo-Dutch business relations.
