Herman is partner and leads the Litigation & Commercial Contracting team. He specialises in corporate and commercial litigation. Additionally he assists national and international companies on commercial contracting issues.

- Representing a German client in the energy sector in binding advice proceedings – and setting-aside proceedings – regarding a post M&A-dispute;
- Summary proceedings before a district court for a Dutch client in active in the food sector regarding a dispute about contract performance;
- Summary arbitral proceedings for a Swedish based multinational regarding a post M&A-dispute;
- Litigation before the Enterprise Chamber for a listed Swedish client about issues of corporate law;
- Various litigation and advice work regarding international contract law, franchise and distribution contracts, product liability and director’s liability;
- Assisting a Turkish based company in relation to the international execution of a Turkish verdict.
Specifics
Herman graduated in Dutch Law at the Tilburg University and subsequently studied at the University of Minnesota Law School (LL.M.). He has been an attorney since 2007 and also has experience working as in-house litigation counsel for one of the Netherlands’ largest multinationals. Herman is fluent in Dutch and English.

Herman has registered the principal legal practice area CIVIL LAW / LITIGATION in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister). Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten (10) training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
