Heussen proud of another Legal500 recommendation

L500 emea top tier firms 2019

HEUSSEN has again been ranked in the Legal500 EMEA 2019 edition. In addition to being 'very responsive, pragmatic, and deal-driven', HEUSSEN is identified as 'a very internationally oriented law firm working to the highest quality standards' and its foreign desks are considered 'a big plus' by clients.

HEUSSEN was ranked in the following practices:

Commercial, corporate & M&A:

The team acted for US-based energy and natural resources private equity firm Denham Capital on the setting up of a partnership with Pembroke Resources through a Dutch company to acquire and develop a portfolio of metallurgical coal assets in the Asia Pacific region. 'Energetic dealmaker' Paul Josephus Jitta and Suzanne Beijersbergen are recommended; Tim Schreuders 'is always available and provides great support on transactions', while Stan Robbers is highlighted for his 'successful Chinese practice and excellent network'.

The Employment law team at HEUSSEN 'distinguishes itself by the no-nonsense culture with which cases are handled'. The group has international capabilities and a number of foreign desks. Nils E. W. van Dijkman 'gives his full attention, even on short notice, to every problem put before him'. The team acted on behalf of the shareholders of Kijkshop in a dispute related to the dismissal of the managing director which included litigation. Niels van Gelder, who has a focus on Japan-related work, advised Kobelco on the employment issues that arose from a merger.

Banking & Finance:

HEUSSEN has steadily grown its banking and finance practice in recent years advising on numerous cross-border transactions. Led by Martijn Koot, the practice assisted Agnico Eagles Mines Limited, a Canadian-based gold producer, as Dutch legal counsel with a third amendment and restatement of a $1.2bn credit agreement. Senior associate Sandy van der Schaaf and Tim Schreuders make up the team.

We are very proud of the recommendations and would like to thank our clients and peers for their recommendations.
